Azure Quantum Ecosystem
Developing a Quantum Computing Ecosystem to Drive Innovation

October 18, 2021 · IEEE Quantum Week (QCE21)

About the workshop

Successful technology ecosystems that drive innovation embrace consistent foundational tenants including open standards, attractive value exchange amongst participants, and promotion of tooling and capabilities that mitigate barriers to usage. For Quantum Computing, adhering to these tenants and bringing together diverse capabilities from across the stack encourages continuous improvement to the state of the art as a community and thus accelerates innovation further.
This workshop will discuss the Azure Quantum ecosystem in detail. We will cover key ecosystem tools: Microsoft Quantum Development Kit and Q#. Azure Quantum partners (hardware, software, application) will share their expertise, including detailed technical discussion of their current capabilities and implementation examples.

This workshop includes:

  • Azure Quantum overview.
    • Azure Quantum and Microsoft Quantum Development Kit overview.
    • Quantum software development workflow using Microsoft Quantum Development Kit and Q# programming language: developing the program, running it locally on a variety of simulators, estimating the resources required to run the program, and running it on quantum hardware.
  • Azure Quantum partner deep dives.
In each 30-minute session partner experts will cover recent advancements and share technical use cases of their work.
    • Quantum hardware partners: IonQ, Honeywell, QCI.
    • Quantum software/application partners: QunaSys, Cambridge Quantum Computing.
  • Q&A: Ask the Expert.
The experts from Azure Quantum and the partners answer attendees' questions live.
